Functions of the Center:
The Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer (CITT) is a science and technology unit under Ton Duc Thang University. The Center is headquartered at 19 Nguyen Huu Tho Street, Tan Hung Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
The Center’s main functions include:
- Implementing applied research, piloting new technologies, conducting short-term training programs, and raising public awareness of science, technology and innovation;
- Receiving and transferring technologies, commercializing intellectual property, and organizing supply-demand matching activities to bring research results to the market;
- Incubating technologies and supporting the establishment of start-up enterprises originating from university research, by providing workspace, infrastructure and advisory services for potential projects;
- Establishing cooperation and mobilizing resources from domestic and international partners to promote research, technology transfer and innovation activities;
- Investing, forming joint ventures and contributing capital to develop science and technology enterprises and services in order to increase financial autonomy and expand the practical application of research results.
Responsibilities of the Center:
- Conduct research, development and testing of new technologies, from initial ideas to prototype products;
- Carry out comprehensive intellectual property (IP) activities, including advising on registration, exploitation and knowledge management, as well as valuation, training and communication, in order to enhance IP capacity within and beyond TDTU;
- Serve as the focal point for knowledge transfer, organize training and consultancy services, facilitate supply-demand matching, support commercialization, and develop national and international science and technology trading platforms;
- Mobilize resources and manage the Startup and Innovation Support Fund, while organizing training, consulting and communication programs to foster a sustainable startup and innovation ecosystem both within and outside TDTU;
- Establish and operate the Innovation Incubator, providing infrastructure and support services for product, technology and business model development, and for the creation of new enterprises;
- Provide science and technology consulting, evaluation and appraisal services, support administrative and investment/business procedures, expand the assets of the Startup Support Fund, and accompany spin-off enterprises in their development.
