Delegation of the Department of Science and Technology of Quang Ngai Province Visits and Works with Ton Duc Thang University

On September 16, 2025, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) welcomed and held a working session with the delegation from the Department of Science and Technology of Quang Ngai Province at the University’s main campus.

The working session was attended by the delegation of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) of Quang Ngai Province, led by Mr. Nguyen Tan Liem - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of Quang Ngai DOST, along with Mr. Tran Duy Linh - Director of the Center for Digital Transformation and Innovation of Quang Ngai Province; and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi - Director of the Center for Standards, Metrology and Quality of Quang Ngai Province.

From TDTU, participants included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao – President and Chairman of the Scientific and Training Council; Dr. Vo Hoang Duy - Vice President; Dr. Duong Thi Thuy Van – Director of the Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Duc Hien - Head of the Office for Science and Technology Development Management; Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Phien - Director of the Informatics Center; together with representatives of other functional units of the University.

Working Session Content

This visit and working session aimed to implement Plan No. 01/KH-UBND-TDTU dated July 17, 2023, between the People’s Committee of Quang Ngai Province and Ton Duc Thang University on the cooperation program between the Province and the University for the period 2023 - 2027.

During the session, leaders of the two sides shared about training, research, and innovation activities, and discussed directions for future cooperation. Four priority areas were emphasized, including: renewable energy; high-tech agriculture, forestry, and fisheries (with a particular focus on medicinal plants); tourism and marine economy; and innovation and digital transformation. These are key areas assessed to hold sustainable development potential for Quang Ngai Province and are consistent with TDTU’s development orientation.

In addition to the proposed areas above, the two sides also identified further cooperation potential, such as: TDTU supporting Quang Ngai DOST in registering patents for potential research outcomes; implementing the Training Program on Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) for officials, public servants, civil servants, and employees; jointly organizing festivals, competitions, conferences, and forums on science, technology, and innovation; creating academic playgrounds to encourage creativity and connect scientists, students, enterprises, and management agencies; with a vision to build a dynamic local science and technology ecosystem, enhance the practical application of research results, and expand long-term cooperation opportunities.
