TDTU students achieve outstanding success at the 27th Euréka Scientific research Awards 2025
On the morning of December 7, 2025, at the Closing and Awarding Ceremony of the 27th Student Scientific Research Awards - Euréka, student research groups from Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) achieved impressive results, securing 01 Second Prize, 02 Third Prizes, and 01 Consolation Prize. These achievements continue to affirm the standing of TDTU students in the national scientific research movement.
The Student Scientific Research Awards - Euréka is a prestigious academic arena with a history spanning over 25 years, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union in collaboration with the Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City. The award aims to foster a passion for research and scientific creativity among students from higher education institutions across the country.
In 2025, the Euréka Awards recorded a record-breaking scale with 2,179 research topics, attracting over 7,500 students from 161 universities, colleges, academies. Undergoing rigorous selection rounds, only 192 outstanding topics across 15 fields were selected for the Final Round to be evaluated by a Professional Scientific Council.
Surpassing thousands of high-quality entries from numerous reputable training institutions, TDTU student groups demonstrated distinct research competence, creative thinking, and the ability to integrate theory with practice. Ultimately, the TDTU delegation successfully brought home 04 awards in the fields of Biology, Resources and Environment; Culture - Arts, specifically:
01 SECOND PRIZE - FIELD: CULTURE - ARTS
- Topic: Research on creating Phalaenopsis orchid modules from recycled nylon materials, applied to street handbag design.
- Student Team: Tran Huynh Chau, Nguyen Khai Nghiem.
- Supervisors: M.A. Nguyen Hong Khiem, Eng. Nguyen Le Huyen Tran.

01 THIRD PRIZE - FIELD: CULTURE - ARTS
- Topic: Determinants of travellers’ willingness to pay more for green travel products: A moderating effect of green perceived value.
- Student Team: Le Chanh Tin, Le Thi Yen, Pham Thi Anh Thu.
- Supervisor: Dr. Nguyen Minh Huan.

01 THIRD PRIZE - FIELD: RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENT
- Topic: Research on developing oil-adsorbent materials from coir pith combined with ZIF-8.
- Student Team: Vo Phi Vu, Dang Lam Cam Tien, Nguyen Quoc Phong.
- Supervisor: Dr. Tran Hoai Khang.

01 CONSOLATION PRIZE - FIELD: BIOLOGY
- Topic: Investigation of phytochemical contents, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activities of fractions from Camellia quephongensis Hakoda et Ninh extract.
- Student Team: Pham Minh Cuong, Trieu Anh Minh, Nguyen Vinh Quang.
- Supervisor: M.A. Doan Thien Thanh.

This success is the result of serious investment in building an ecosystem that supports student scientific research, ranging from ideation to publication and practical application.
Alongside prominent marks at other prestigious scientific research awards in 2025, the achievements of TDTU students at Euréka continue to affirm the scientific research capacity of the University's younger generation. Simultaneously, this contributes to realizing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated 22/12/2024 of the Politburo regarding breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.
